I help families feel good about what they put on and in their bodies - providing natural solutions to every day challenges.
A girlie girl from the beginning; as soon as I could hold a brush, my mother was no longer allowed to do my hair. Her ponytails were always too loose or not in the center. She even claims that as soon as I could talk, I put a stop to haircuts from dad. I have fond memories of going to JC Penny with my mother to get our hair cut and get our nails done. Makeup, nails, and hair have always piqued my interest. Panda Glow Colorado is about turning that into a reality; bringing network marketing businesses I've worked to build and my education and training under one umbrella.
Those who know me well, know I am also a lover of food - cooking and eating! While I claim Cookie Monster as my spirit animal, I also understand that health, wellness and beauty begin not only with what we put into our bodies, but also what we put on our bodies and who/what we surround ourselves with. Of course, we cannot control every element of the things we eat and use, but making well-educated decisions is a great place to start.
I have made increasingly conscientious decisions about the products I use for my makeup, skincare, hair products, nutritional supplements and medicines, and now products around the house. We are constantly inundated with environmental factors that impact our overall health and well-being. My journey started with a focus on using cruelty-free makeup and skincare products. Then as I've learned more about the harmful ingredients that many skincare and cosmetic companies use, becoming even more diligent about the products I choose.
The next phase of my journey was triggered because by GI challenges for as long as I could remember and because I had gotten to the point where I would have to write extra lines on medical intake forms because I was on so many prescription medications. I think I maxed out at 13 daily prescriptions. Some helped. Some sort of helped. Some helped but had bad side effects which then needed to be managed. And others just had terrible side effects and I knew they weren't a viable solution for me. And well some were just so darn expensive I couldn't afford to take them monthly - even with good health insurance! I had doctors tell me that my GI challenges were maybe just my normal processes or providing just some diagnosis because they didn't know what was going on.
I was convinced there had to be a better way. So I began to search for natural alternatives and modalities to address my health and wellness. I am no seeker of a miracle cure or cure all, but I did wonder if some of the symptoms I worked to manage daily were perhaps rooted in something else.
Chiropractics were the first thing that helped me to manage chronic migraines and cluster headaches without further medication. I even changed neurologists because one was not supportive of my desire to be on daily medications to manage my symptoms. In my adult life I have found relationships with a counselor to be invaluable! Even on days when I felt great and didn't feel like I would have anything to talk about, the hour session would be over in no time. Since childhood I have found journaling to be therapeutic as well. And while I don't journal in the same way today, I start every day with a gratitude and dream journal. It helps me to set the tone for the day positively with things I am grateful for and dreams I am working to fulfill.
My journey expanded to find supplements to fill nutritional gaps, ALERT! Eating a healthy and well-balanced diet is no longer enough. As we consume more processed foods and soils are depleted of essential nutrients from over farming, we need a little help to get everything needed to keep our bodies healthy. Did you know... it would take 6 apples today to equal the same nutrient content of 1 apple our grandparents ate?! There are also some nutrients we need that our bodies just cannot create, nor can we get from dietary sources
More recently, I've begun examining products used around the house as those can impact not only my own health, but my family's health and the health of my beloved dogs. Removing toxins from everyday products that are used - you would be surprised how many there are! None of this to say that I don't believe that bleach and disinfectants don't belong - but that there is a time and a place for them.
Everyday we are faced with hundreds, thousands, of choices to be made, not all of them we are conscious of. Panda Glow Colorado is here to help guide you through some of these decisions. I am fiercely committed to providing you with education, coaching, information and products focused on health, wellbeing, sustainability, cruelty-free practices.
There is so much to learn and see, so please take a look around and don't hesitate to reach out!
